The Minster of Housing and Construction: Iraq Is One of the Arab Cities which signed at The Arab Center Basic Program   for safekeeping from earthquake  risk     and  others  natural disasters.

       The Minister of Housing and Construction, Bayan Dezee announced that Iraq signed at The Arab Center Basic Program   for safekeeping from earthquake risk  and others natural disasters   under the canopy of the Arab Leaguer Council so it consider as a Founder member.

The Republic of Iraq  desire to strengthen the Joint Arab action ,Keep up the scientific and technological progress movement in prevention field of earthquake risks and  other natural disaster  , encourage the available  energies and capacities in the Arab world in this field , unify the efforts and the  Arab experiences in monitoring and prevention and the necessity to  develop modern techniques to serve  Arab nation  and strengthen the joint   Arab cooperation to set up  an Arab system and Coordinate between efforts and  Arab methods to  avoid these risks.

One of the most important aims for the center is to Diagnose and control  the location and the scopes of earthquake and safekeeping from it ,suggest the technical  solution on scientific basis and facts ,encourage the scientific and technical cooperation between the Arab cities  , support and organize  training exercises and prepare the researches and studies and exchange the information and use the recent technique and offer  technical cooperation for the   which expose to natural  disasters .

The major task can be abbreviate in the technical and scientific support  for the Member States  and evaluate   the risks and organize the prevention from it and calculate  and publish  information regularly with the cooperation of  research       active centers. and put earthquakes  maps . and coordinate between the national centers in the  Member States and do research project and try  to accomplish it and set up information  bank about the prevention from earthquakes and arrange  training courses and popularize the information in all the possible ways .
